Field Trips
Our middle school students enjoyed seeing the production of Noah at Sight & Sound Theaters this year. Students in 9th through 12th grades also visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC where they were able to gain a new respect for that era.
Our upperclassmen get to experience a few trips on their own such as hikes, senior missions trips, and lunch outings several times a year.
These trips are especially beneficial for our new students to help introduce them to our CCS family and help them feel welcomed and loved.
In September 2016, our faculty and students had a blast at Camp Calvary in Bernville, PA. The students and staff enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, water slides, zip lines, rock climbing, high speed tubing and much more. We met for chapel services five times that week and ended the evenings with a bonfire where students and staff bonded with spiritual and life experiences and stories. Our CCS family looks forward to the Spiritual Retreat each year.
The enthusiasm is lifted once again during the secondary revival when a guest speak comes in to deliver powerful messages to the students regarding their life paths: where they’ve been, where they are, and where the Lord may be leading them.
Eighth Grade Banquet
The 8th grade banquet is a special evening for each 8th grade student and their parents who are invited to attend a banquet. At this banquet, the students dress up and celebrate the honor of their completion of middle school and their promotion to high school. The parents create memory boards and display memorabilia for their student to reflect on and enjoy. A nice meal is enjoyed and some middle school teachers will share about the students and the class as an entirety. A few Seniors will challenge the 8th grade class with things that they, themselves, learned in high school and give some words of wisdom to the eighth graders as they enter high school. There is a time for pictures and creating more memories. The evening is highlighted when the students receive their middle school diploma. This is a special evening with many opportunities for memories. Each eighth grade student and their parents are encouraged to attend.
