And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. (Luke 2:52)

Philosophy of Education . . .

God is the ultimate reason, source, and authority of all the natural and spiritual creation. (John 1:1-4; Rev. 4:11; Gen. 1-2; Rom. 11:36; Col. 1:16, 17; Psa. 8)

God is objective, ultimate truth. True wisdom, meaning, knowledge, values, and understanding are determined only in accordance with God's truth as given by His Word. Therefore, true and proper education has God and His Word as the foundation and governing principle throughout, with God's truths presented. All subject matter is to be taught in conformity with His Word and all principles interpreted through God's Word. (Deut. 32:4; John 14:6; Psa. 104:24, 147:5)

God made man in His own image and gave him dominion over all the earth, and the responsibility of man is to fear God and obey and glorify Him. Children are a gift from God, and God, having established the home, has charged the parents with the responsibility for the education of their children. In view of the God-ordained separation of church and state, some parents have voluntarily delegated some aspects of the process of the education of their children to the church educational ministry. (Gen. 1:26-28, 2:7, 19; Eccl. 12:13, 14; Psa. 127:3; I Samuel 1:27; Ephesians 6:4)

What We Believe . . .

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the Christian's final authority from God. (II Tim. 3:16)
  • The birth of Jesus Christ is evidence of His deity, in that He was virgin born and was God in the flesh. (Matthew 1:20; I Tim. 3:16)
  • The blood of Christ, shed on Calvary, is the only atonement for man's sin. (Hebrews 9:22; I Peter 1:18, 19; I John 1:7; Hebrews 10:12-20)
  • The Lord Jesus Christ was buried, He bodily arose from the tomb, and He ascended into heaven.
  • The body of Christ which is called "THE CHURCH" is that body composed of all believers, who by faith have accepted Christ as Lord. (Ephesians 5)
  • The personal premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ is the blessed hope. (Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 4:15-18)
  • The Godhead exists from all eternity as a trinity; three persons, but one in substance, one in nature. (Matt. 28:18-19; John 1:14)
  • The believer's call to a life of consecration as giving evidence to the world that the Lord Jesus saves, keeps, and satisfies. (Romans 12:1)

History of Our School

Carroll Christian Schools began in 1973 as Carroll Christian Academy. The new school was started as a ministry of the Church of the Open Door for the purpose of providing a Christian alternative to the community's educational options. The Academy opened its doors with thirty-four students in grades kindergarten through four.

The school grew steadily, adding one grade per year until it graduated its first senior class in 1982. Shortly thereafter, a preschool program was started and the school officially became known as Carroll Christian Schools.

Through the years the school has added not only grades to its program, but also curricular and extra-curricular enhancements. These include a fully developed fine arts program as well as multiple opportunities in athletics and a strong academic track for high school students.

As the church and school ministries grew, so grew the need for additional facilities. The school began in the church's original 70' x 100' building now known as the Baker Building. The ministries grew rapidly, so the Boese Wing was added in two phases, in 1974 and in 1976. In 1980 the two small buildings sometimes referred to as the "temporaries" or "portables" were constructed. The 1980's saw explosive growth in the church, which led to the construction of the 1500 seat auditorium in 1985. A long-time dream for the school was fulfilled in 1994 when the gymnasium/high school building was finished. This building contains a full-size high school gym, locker rooms, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, modern science lab, and a state-of-the-art computer lab. A two classroom modular building was installed next to the gymnasium in the summer of 1998. The completion of an addition to the high school building in the 2001-2002 school term has provided a cafeteria/multi-purpose room, a large library, a computer lab, and five additional classrooms.

As the Lord has provided for us throughout the last 34 years, we are confident that He will continue to meet our needs as we continue to stand "for the Word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ."  (Rev. 1:9)
